Each life is precious,

but that doesn’t mean

your desires trump anyone else’s.

Tearing me down

and ripping my family to pieces

are not for you to dictate.

You may try,

but I will stand

to show you this truth.

You have no power over me.

there is nothing  you can do

to diminish my worth.

If I cry, if I break,

if every reason to smile is taken,

you can’t take my happiness,

you can’t take my will,

you can’t take my identity.
