"Remember" Inspired by Tell Me When You Feel Something:

Remember

If ignorance is bliss,

then so too is the ability to forget.

Without conscious memory of mistakes and betrayal,

one cannot know the pain of them.

In this way,

it may be more accurate to say

that forgetting is only

the illusion of bliss.

If you have forgotten,

it only removes your pain.

The pain of others remains and multiplies

without you carrying your share.

Remembering alone and bearing all the sorrow

is the heaviest of weights.

The line between strengthening yourself and being crushed

is treacherous.

Remember

or not.

The choice is yours.

But you cannot choose for anyone else.
