"The Contradiction of Right" Inspired by Hood:

The Contradiction of Right

“Two wrongs

don’t make a right” --

my mother’s admonition

conflicts with Robin Hood’s methods.

If true,

Prince John taking advantage of taxes

and Robin Hood stealing money back --

even with good intentions --

doesn’t make stealing

the correct action.

But my mother also taught me

to stand for truth

and do what is right.

When is doing a good thing

despite rules calling it bad

a revolution for righteousness

and when is it vigilante work?

How can doing the right thing

become wrong?
