Breathe Life
My care is with the Wind.
I am light when they are free
and lost when they are absent.
I long for the Wind
to lift me above the world
to hold me in their dynamic embrace.
Stagnancy in the space between
matter that connects all
—living and nonliving—
is eerie, unnatural, lonely.
I long for the Wind
to return breath to the waiting world
to dance with and in us.
The wait is hope-draining.
I need—we need—
the Wind to remind us
we are light
we are free
we are alive.
