The Piper
They dream of the piper,
wishing for the removal of burdens.
They dance for the piper,
drawn in by the freedom of excess.
They condemn the piper,
when the illusion is broken.
They curse at the piper,
as he leaves them in cages.
They complain about the piper,
hoping he returns for his due.
They pray for the piper,
wanting one more spellbound day.
