Vibrant Colors of Life and Death
Nature warns us of color,
and the abuse of man confirms it.
Bright colors of poisons,
streaks and spots predators use to blend in,
a vibrancy that indicates power,
the life man has stolen from another.
We shun the practice,
we shun the color that represents them.
But our dull browns and grays
do not save us,
just as color itself does not kill us.
We wear our fear as a shield,
and it does not protect us.
