The Creator
Victor pieced together his creation
from hodgepodge parts he could assemble in secret.
Each piece was specifically chosen,
each piece was hand-sewn together,
each piece was part anticipation of greatness
and part love.
Was the monster created by Victor
when reality shattered ideal so forcefully
that Victor cried and ran,
the heart that had planned, built, and loved now irreversibly broken?
Agatha gifted the hiding stranger
with language and an example of companionship.
She took care of her family,
and so the stranger did as well.
She took in an outsider who did not use her words,
and so the stranger hoped for acceptance as well.
Was the monster created by Agatha
who took one look at her unknown pupil
and chose to cry and run rather than nurture,
leaving the heart that had loved her family now irreversibly broken?
