"A Week of Three Things" Inspired by Tell Me Three Things:

A Week of Three Things

1. I thought I hated puzzles

until I needed something to do

while listening to audiobooks.

2. Singing along to the radio in my car

is my happy place.

3. I love the idea of exchanging

coded notes with someone,

but I’m afraid I don’t have the patience

for encrypting and decrypting.

1. Every day, I end on a high note:

enjoying a scoop of ice cream.

2. One of the things I love most

about working my favorite jobs

is the chaos of them.

3. I love polka dots.

1. I write out my daily and weekly goals

every two weeks,

and seeing my fortnightly planning on the wall

always makes me smile

(even if I’m not meeting all my goals).

2. I know that I am a daughter of God

and that Jesus Christ is my Savior.

3. Eating food is awesome.

Eating food with a friend

is even better than awesome.

1. Vanilla bean ice cream

is the superior of the vanillas.

2. I enjoy well-written books.

I also immensely enjoy cheesy

werewolf romances and fairytale retellings—

especially of Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast.

3. Some women are known for

shoe collections.

I am not one of them.

I do, however, have an impressive

earring collection.

1. I’m afraid that

my poor, weather-battered tomato plant

is dying,

and I have no idea what to do

to prevent

its slow, agonizing death.

2. My favorite books

have subtext commentary on compassion,

redefining who counts as human—

who gets to be treated with humanity.

3. Today I had my first drum lesson,

and I can’t wait to become

the worst neighbor ever

due to my practicing.

1. I can eat my weight in

Arby’s sauce with roast beef sandwiches

and in Chick-fil-A sauce with fries.

2. My first car,

a Subaru outback named Champagne,

will always have a special place in my heart

and on my key ring.

3. I cannot speak in an accent

to save my life.

1. I love heist movies.

2. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday.

3. Each of these stanzas

has definitely gone towards

that day’s number-of-words-written goal.

Every word counts!
