Each poem has two labels: the book genre and my star rating for the book.

1 star book - I didn't like the book

2 star book - it was an okay book

3 star book - I liked the book

4 star book - I really liked the book

5 star book - this is an amazing book that everyone should read!

action and adventure - fast-paced plot where hero needs to complete a quest or task

classic - old books we still read

detective and mystery - plot with a crime that must be solved

fantasy - includes elements of magic, mythology, or the supernatural

graphic novel - book in comic-strip format

historical fiction - set in the past, often with a backdrop of significant historical events

horror - meant to cause discomfort and fear

nonfiction - real stuff

poetry - conveys a thought, describes a scene, or tells a story in a concentrated, lyrical arrangement of words

realistic fiction - stories that could have actually happened

romance - plot focuses on the main characters' love story

science fiction - includes themes of technology and future science

short stories - not as long as typical books

suspense and thrillers - plot with hero needing to stop the villain to save their life
